Program Description

The Snow College Dance program welcomes students of all backgrounds and abilities, including those who have never taken a dance class before. Course offerings include classes in beginning to advanced level ballet, contemporary modern, jazz, tap, improvisation, dance conditioning, and choreography. Whether you plan to major in dance or are just looking for a way to get some movement in your day, our dance classes are for you!

Program Outcomes

A student who completes an associate degree in Dance will be able to do the following.

  • Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in dance technique that is equivalent to the first two years of study at four-year dance institutions, specifically in the areas of ballet, modern/contemporary, and jazz
  • Demonstrate an intermediate level of performance proficiency that is equivalent to the first two years of study at four-year dance institutions
  • Demonstrate intermediate level of compositional and choreographic proficiency that is equivalent to the first two years of study at four-year dance institutions
  • Demonstrate intermediate level of mainstage production competency through collaborative work with dance faculty, guest artists, and lighting designers
