Program Description
The education program at Snow College offers a strong foundation for tomorrow’s teachers, giving students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice as they learn what is required to be an excellent primary or secondary teacher. Students learn about educational psychology, technology in education, teaching special needs students, and more.
Program Outcomes
Students who complete an AS in Education will be able to do the following.
- understand the major theories of education
- understand the expectations and responsibilities of being a teacher
- recognize our students' various special needs and identify ways to effectively meet them
- recognize the diversity found in our classrooms and identify ways to effectively teach all of their students
- understand the ethical and pedagogical considerations when using technology in the classroom
