Program Description

Mathematics is a tool to model and understand the world around us. It is used in virtually every career and is a part of our daily life. The mathematics program at Snow College not only helps those students who think they don’t have a “math brain,” but our skilled faculty is also well-equipped to challenge and prepare students for further education in a variety of STEM fields.

Program Outcomes

A student who completes an associate degree in Mathematics will be able to do the following.

• Students will be able to perform calculations successfully and sufficiently to solve problems at the program level
• Students will be able to interpret and explain information presented in mathematical forms (e.g., equations, graphs, diagrams, tables, words).
• Students will be able to select and apply correct mathematical concepts to model real-world problems and draw appropriate conclusions.

The requirements below will earn you an associate degree, but Snow offers other prerequisites that you will need for your bachelor's degree. Students are encouraged to more fully prepare for transfer by completing the suggested plan of study.

To earn an AS in Mathematics at Snow College, students must complete 60 credits, including the general education requirements and the following major requirements.
