Program Description
Snow College’s history program teaches students to analyze and evaluate the past to become informed citizens. This program incorporates both primary and secondary source material to present students with multiple perspectives on the past. Students will become conversant in the political, economic, social, and cultural trends and key moments from US and world history. Through this program, students will be able to articulate historical arguments relevant to modern society.
Program Outcomes
A student who completes an associate degree in History will be able to do the following.
- By the end of this program, students will be able to make and critique arguments about history.
- By the end of this program, students will be able to analyze primary sources within their historical context.
- By the end of this program, students will be able to communicate effectively about the principles of government, economic systems, and socio-cultural trends in history.
- By the end of this program, students will be able to synthesize multiple historical perspectives from a range of sources.
- By the end of this program, students will be able to identify current events and their relationship to historic events and trends.
