Program Description

Psychology is a great choice for students interested in understanding human thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It explores how individuals develop, interact, and respond to various influences. Students can expect to study topics such as cognitive processes, mental health, personality development, social behavior, neuroscience, research methods, perception, motivation, learning, and psychological disorders.

Program Outcomes

Students who complete an associate degree in Psychology should expect the following outcomes from the program: 

  • Examine individual and group behavior through psychology concepts, methods, perspectives, or theories.
  • Increase student’s reported levels of ability to interact, relate, and empathize with other people.
  • Demonstrate an increased understanding of various career options and educational pathways in or related to Psychology
  • Students will be able to critically evaluate claims using information literacy skills and scientific reasoning, while also recognizing common biases and fallacies.
  • Students will be able to articulate how the mind and body connect and apply principles of stress, self-regulation, and well-being in various aspects of their lives.
