Pre-Veterinary (AS)

Program Description

The  Pre-Veterinary program puts students on the path for veterinary school admission. It emphasizes animal health, physiology, and care.

Program Outcomes

A student who earns an associate degree in Pre-Vet will be able to do the following.

  • Students will demonstrate an understanding of the core concepts of biology: a. Evolution b. Pathways and transformations of energy and matter c. Information flow, exchange, and storage d. Structure and function e. Systems
  • Students will be able to demonstrate the processes of science.
  • Demonstrate quantitative competency and a basic ability to understand and interpret data as applied to biology.
  • Describe how biology has shaped and been shaped by historical, ethical, and social contexts.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate scientific information in clear language and collaborate with other students and faculty in the classroom.
