Program Description
An associate degree in Physical Education Teaching prepares students to promote health and fitness through instruction and coaching. It covers foundational topics in nutrition, teaching methods, and human development, equipping graduates for roles in schools, recreation, or further study in education or sports science.
Program Outcomes
A student who completes an associate degree in Physical Education Teaching will be able to do the following.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills associated with safely participating in physical activity.
- Effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, instructors, and clients that will help them understand how to live healthier lives.
- Be able to think critically about the information that has been presented and formulate conclusions based on that information.
- Develop hands-on skills related to evaluation and implementation of prescriptions related to health and fitness.
