Program Description
The Certificate in Advanced Networking and Cybersecurity builds on foundational IT skills to prepare students for more complex networking and security roles. The program emphasizes advanced routing, switching, virtualization, and cloud technologies, along with practical strategies for identifying vulnerabilities and responding to cyber threats. Hands-on labs reinforce real-world problem-solving using industry tools. Graduates are prepared for advanced entry-level positions or to pursue certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA.
Program Outcomes
- Configure and troubleshoot advanced network systems by applying foundational networking concepts, industry-standard protocols, and common diagnostic tools used in entry-level IT environments.
- Implement essential cybersecurity practices by identifying security vulnerabilities, applying protective measures (such as access controls and secure configurations), and following recognized best-practice frameworks.
- Detect and respond to common security incidents by using monitoring tools, analyzing alerts, and documenting findings in accordance with organizational policies and industry expectations.
