This is an intensive course in pre-hospital emergency care that is in compliance with the National EMS Education Standards and Utah State Bureau of Emergency Medical Services for EMT. Students successfully completing this course may be eligible for state certification as an EMT. There are 180 hours of learning time, 24 hours of clinical in a hospital and/or ambulance association, and approximately 15 hours of patient assessments (100) required of each student. Students successfully completing this course may be eligible for state certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. There are 130-150 hours of class, 48 hours of clinical practice in a hospital and/or ambulance association, and approximately 15 hours of patient assessments (100) required of each student.
