This course focuses on the application of basic nursing skills needed to prepare students for employment as nursing assistants in a variety of healthcare settings. The course includes a combination of lectures, skill labs, and clinical experiences to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to pass the state certification test. Course fee required.
TENA 1900 — Nursing Assistant Clinical

This course is the clinical component of the CNA program. Students will complete 24 hours of clinical experience under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Successful completion of the required clinical hours and demonstrated competency in essential skills are necessary to meet program requirements.
Students are expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and compliance with facility policies and state regulations governing nursing assistant practice. Clinical performance is evaluated based on competency achievement, safety, communication, and professional behavior.
